DMA community surgeries to begin in Sacriston

The Durham Miners Association (DMA) is beginning a new programme of advice surgeries in coalfield communities. The first will take place in Sacriston on Friday 2 December.

Following the closure of the collieries, the DMA continued its work providing a range of services for its beneficial members, including compensation claims, benefit information, tribunal representation and legal advice. The DMA is now taking advice surgeries into the communities. Officials will be present to listen to and discuss any issues that affect community life, including welfare benefits, housing, pensions and more. Members or former members of the DMA are welcome to attend. The event will also enable former miners to meet up with former colleagues.

The drop in surgery will take place at:

The Fulforth Centre, Sacriston, DH7 6JT

Friday 2 December 1pm – 2pm
