The 132nd Durham Miners' Gala will take place on Saturday 9th July 2016. Over 150,000 people will come from across the UK to celebrate their heritage and their values of solidarity and community. Join us in Durham and support the Big Meeting by becoming a Friend of the Durham Miners' Gala.
8.30am: Bands and banners begin parading through city
12.30pm -2.30pm: Speakers on the racecourse: including Frances O'Grady (TUC), Jeremy Corbyn MP and Dennis Skinner MP
3pm - 4pm: Cathedral service: Banners being blessed are Bewicke Main, Haswell and Sherburn collieries. Eppleton banner will also be paraded in memory of miners killed at Eppleton colliery disaster in 1951.
