Easington MP Grahame Morris has called on the Government to extend the legislation providing pardons for miners wrongly convicted during the 1984-85 strike across the UK.
The Scottish Parliament passed the Miners’ Strike (Pardons) Bill last year. In a question to the Leader of the House of Commons, Grahame has called on the UK Government to extend the legislation to ensure miners in England and Wales, are able to obtain pardons for crimes many did not commit.
Grahame raised the question in the commons after it was raised at a community advice surgery the hosted by the in Dawdon.
The thanks of the DMA go to Grahame for raising the question and campaigning on the issue.
