The Durham Miners' Association (DMA) has paid tribute to long-standing member Norman Henderson, who has passed away aged 77.
Norman was a union activist all his life and served as the Secretary of the DMA's Eden Lodge. He was also a member of the DMA Executive Committee and an active participant in the DMA's educational schools.
Alan Mardghum, Secretary of the DMA, said: "Norman campaigned tirelessly until the end to improve his own and other communities. He was a great inspiration to all who had the privilege of meeting him. Our thoughts are with Norman's family and many friends."
Norman’s funeral will be held at 11am on Friday 6 December 2019 at Our Lady of St Joseph Church in Leadgate, followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium.
